According to multiple reports, Lea entered a teammate’s apartment in June and threatened him with a BB gun that was wrapped in a towel. He was suspended indefinitely at the time of his arrest for violating the Arizona Board of Regents’ Student Code of Conduct for having the weapon on campus.

“Our deal is if you violate rules, there’s going to be accountability,” Sun Devils coach Todd Graham said Thursday, via AZCentral.com. “He’ll have a plan of improvement and he has a lot of things with that. We felt like the young man deserved a second chance, but that’s a pretty harsh punishment.”

Lea, a three-star prospect from New Orleans, will be allowed to redshirt this season, his freshman campaign, while serving his suspension.
