Ariana Grande took to Instagram to reveal her new Pokemon tattoo. Designed by Los Angeles tattoo artist Kane Navasard, the tattoo is of Eevee, who is presumably Ariana Grande’s favorite Pokemon, if the tattoo and her selection of Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee over Let’s Go Pikachu are any indication.
Ariana Grande has had a connection to video games beyond the Pokemon franchise. In the past, she appeared on Jimmy Fallon to play the Nintendo Labo, the cardboard-based creation kit that Nintendo released for the Switch last year. And she has actually even been in video games as a playable character as well.
A few years ago, Ariana Grande was added to the mobile game Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius as the character Dangerous Ariana. Dangerous Ariana bears Ariana Grande’s likeness, and even includes her trademark bunny ears. Since her initial appearance in Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius, Ariana Grande has appeared in the game additional times, as Chic Ariana, Sportive Ariana, and Charming Kitty Ariana.
From her involvement in the industry to the fact that she got Eevee tattooed to her arm, it’s clear that Ariana Grande has some bit of passion for video games. It will be interesting to see if that ever translates into the singer getting her very own video game spinoff, like we’ve seen from other pop stars and celebrities in the past. In the meantime, one has to wonder if Ariana Grande’s public admiration for Pokemon translates into any of her fans trying out the franchise.
