In 2014, there was the “Brasil, decime qué se siente” (Brazil, tell me how it feels) to the tune of Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
In 2022 the favorite tune comes courtesy of rock band La Mosca Tse and it’s a song based on their popular “Muchachos, esta noche me emborracho” (Guys, tonight I’m getting drunk).
It’s a song that is sung in the stands at Argentine league matches and in this case it was adapted for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in support of the national team. The players are now singing it in the locker room after victories.
Lionel Messi himself recently told Argentine sports publication Olé that it was his favorite song by Argentina fans. The Sporting News shares the lyrics below with a translation to English following the Spanish verses.

Muchachos Argentina World Cup song lyrics
Muchachos song translation to English
“In Argentina I was born, land of Diego and Lionel, I’ll never forget the young men of the Falkland Islands, I can’t explain it to you, because you wouldn’t understand how many years I cried for the finals that we lost But that’s all over, because in the Maracana [stadium] the final against the Brazilians, daddy [Argentina] won again.
Guys, now we can dream again, I want to win the third [title], I want to be a world champion And Diego [Maradona], we can see him up in heaven, With Don Diego [Maradona’s father] and with La Tota [Maradona’s mother], All rooting for Lionel.”

There’s a large contingent of Argentina supporters in Qatar and those numbers have increased as the Albiceleste have advanced deep into the 2022 tournament.
Their songs have filled stadiums and even public transportation in the World Cup host country, including the one entitled “Winning the World Cup is what I’m dreaming of” which aims to sting their rival Brazilian fans, who were ousted in the quarterfinals against Croatia.

The Argentines don’t hold back. They don’t mind tweaking the Brazilians and the English, but they’ll also tell their own players how it is, sometimes in language that’s a bit more crude.
Here are the lyrics to “Let’s go Argentina, you know that I love you”, which sounds innocent enough.
“Vamos Argentina, sabés que yo te quiero” lyrics translated to English
Let’s go Argentina You know I love you Today we must win and be first These crazy fans, left everything behind for the cup This team that has Messi and Maradona Show you have balls, charge ahead Argentina Show you have balls, charge ahead players This year we have to turn things around We all came to Doha to become champions
