He also hasn’t appeared in a single game of the World Cup qualifying campaign with manager Alejandro Sabella preferring Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain and Tevez’s former Manchester City teammate Sergio Aguero as forwards with midfielders Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria and Ezequiel Lavezzi for support.
Tevez last played for Argentina in 2011 before the appointment of Alejandro Sabella and has scored only 13 goals in 64 appearances for his country.
