After losing the first set narrowly, India had a chance to level the contest. But poor scores of a 7 and two 8s cost India dearly as the Italians took a 2-0 lead.

India managed to salvage some pride by drawing the third set.
Earlier in the week, India put up a brilliant comeback performance to outshine third seeds Germany in the quarter-finals.
Deepika Kumari has to quickly shake off the setback and come back for the gold medal match in mixed recurve competition in the evening. Besides that, India has an opportunity to add another medal as Atanu Das will be in action in the bronze medal contest in individual section later in the day.
