The top piece is going to be highly contested; but if you’re starting out upgrading items, having the tier 8 2-set bonus is something to look for and keeping the tier 7 2-set bonus is also a really good strategy.

The Quest reward from the Algalon quest is going to be the best option for both 10 and 25M; provided some options for Hit Rating as well.

The tier piece is going to be the best bet for 10 and 25M, the set bonus is really strong. When gearing, try to maintain the 2-set bonus from each tier until ready to get 4-set bonus from tier 8.

There aren’t a lot of good options for bracers and the BiS for Arcane Mages is highly contested by about 11 other specs. For 10M it may be better to go with the Unsullied Cuffs from Phase 1 Sarth.

Pharos Gloves are also going to be BiS for a lot of specs because of the ilvl and perfect stat allocation. Tier glovers are another option but can be replaced if not breaking any set bonuses.

Best Gems For Arcane Mage In Phase 2 - Ulduar
Be sure to replace a Runed Scarlet Ruby with the new fishing daily epic gem Runed Stormjewel. They are not soulbound so players can also purchase them at the auction house. Arcane Mages will want to focus on getting the following gems for each individual socket type:
Meta Gem Socket
Chaotic Skyflare Diamond
The Crit gem still holds up as the BiS Meta Gem, typically players will want to use Purified Twilight Opal in 2 of their blue sockets.
Red Socket
For red sockets focus on Spell Power provided by these gems.
Runed Dragon’s Eye x3 (Jeweler’s Gem) Runed Stormjewel x1 (Fishing Daily) Runed Scarlet Ruby
Blue Socket
For a blue socket, the Spell Power / Spirit gem is the best; only use 2 to activate the Meta Gem and aim to use it where the socket bonus is Spell Power or Crit.
Purified Twilight Opal
Yellow Socket
Players can also use the orange gem below in yellow sockets, where the socket bonus is Spell Power or Crit. Use the haste option if you are already hit capped.

Best Enchants For Arcane Mage In Phase 2 - Ulduar
The list below shows which enchants players will want to use for their Arcane Mages. These will likely be the same from Phase 1. Head and Shoulder enchants can be found via Reputation and the rest are from the professions (Enchanting, Leatherworking, and Blacksmithing) and can often be found at the Auction House. Some professions provide a better option that is Exclusive to the character that has the profession and should be used instead of the other options.
