For those unaware, although Sony typically announces the new PS Plus games on the last Wednesday of any given month, the games do not actually become available for free until the first Tuesday of the following month. As such, fans have quite a wait this time around until Uncharted 4 and Dirt Rally 2.0 become available, as April’s first Tuesday would be the 7th, and unfortunately, that’s no April Fool’sDay joke. Still, both of these games have been critically acclaimed, and are sure to be a treat for subscribers.

PS Plus April: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is an action adventure game starring Nathan Drake, an ex-treasure hunter on a mission. Players control Nathan Drake from a third person perspective, and will need to make use of guns, weaponry, the environment, and a lot of platforming and exploration in order to succeed. For those who prefer to experience video games with friends, this game has both cooperative and competitive online multiplayer modes and has been praised by critics, receiving a 9/10 or better from a plethora of sources and a full 5/5 stars in Game Rant’s Uncharted 4 review.
Uncharted 4 was developed by Naughty Dog, which many avid gamers may recognize as the same studio in charge of the equally as successful The Last of Us from 2013. Interestingly enough, both this game and the Uncharted: Nathan Drake collection featuring the first three games have also been free on PS Plus in the last couple of months, so fans of this game should certainly check to see if those PS Plus games are in their library. Although the earlier Uncharted games definitely show their age, The Last of Us and some of the later Uncharted games are definitely worth playing.
Dirt Rally 2.0
Dirt Rally 2.0 is, as the name suggests, a racing video game, but this one stands a cut above the rest for its attention to detail and commitment to realism. Dirt Rally 2.0 features over 50 cars, many of which are actual cars rather than imitations found in games like Grand Theft Auto. This game’s dedication to accurately portraying rallying can be seen in the way each stage is constantly changing, as other cars, random weather patterns, and more change how easy it is to drive on the track. Although not quite as highly praised by critics, Dirt Rally 2.0 does receive a solid score (mid 80s) all around, and has been hailed by both racing game and car enthusiasts alike as one of the greatest around.
Both of these free PS Plus games for April are a special treat, but then it seems as though the quality of PS Plus games has taken a significant leap so far in 2020. Either way, Sony is certainly still giving fans a reason to remained subscribed, and helping make sure that everyone have something to do at home during self-isolation caused by the Coronavirus. Come Tuesday, April 7th, players should be sure to remember to add both of these games to their library.
PS Plus free games for April include Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Dirt Rally 2.0.
