The hour-long showcase will be streaming live on Tuesday, April 16th at 2pm PST across various platforms such as YouTube, Mixer, and Twitch. While E3 will be focused on heavily as mentioned earlier, the Anniversary Update for Sea of Thieves will have new details, exclusive gameplay footage of Rage 2 will be released, and Rod Fergusson, creative director at The Coalition, will also be making a special guest appearance, which could lead to news pertaining to the in-development Gears 5.

Getting ahead of bringing potentially huge news for Xbox is going to crucial for the company, as the current generation of consoles continues on through its final couple of years of relevance. There have been rumors Xbox will reveal a new console at this year’s press conference, with the system likely releasing in 2020.

This year’s E3 is also another opportunity for Xbox to show what its newly acquired studios have been working on for the past year. After announcement the acquisition of five new first-party studios at E3 2018, Xbox is looking to make a strong comeback with new IP from developers such as Ninja Theory, Undead Labs, and Compulsion Games, just to name a few. Other first-party titles, such as Halo Infinite and Gears 5, could have more news incoming also. The company has also teased big plans were coming for this year’s E3 event, and while Xbox has joked about Sony’s absence from the trade show, it’ll need to make sure its plan is well executed.

In regards to games expected to be on the Xbox stage during E3, Cyberpunk 2077 will surely be one of the biggest games the company would like to feature once again. After capping off the Xbox press conference last year, developer CD Projekt Red has confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 will be at E3 again in 2019, so an appearance during Microsoft’s press conference isn’t out of the question.
